Daniel Boddam Studio has unveiled its first gallery showroom, now open in the heart of Melbourne’s Collingwood. The space will present an evolving array of the studio’s crafted furniture and lighting collections, alongside a curated selection of art and decor.

Based on Daniel’s singular belief that a sense of calm and well-being can be achieved through design, his eponymous Sydney-based architecture, interior, furniture and lighting design studio, is driven by a pursuit of simplicity. Regardless of expression—spaces or objects—he seeks to inspire human engagement and a connection with nature whilst celebrating the artisanal. With these thoughts at the forefront of his creative output, the Melbourne gallery as an experiential space feels like a natural progression for the designer.

The studio’s pursuit of simplicity is echoed in the gallery’s warm yet minimalist design, with all floors, walls and ceilings finished in the same neutral putty colour to create a cocoon-like environment, ultimately drawing focus to the artisanal craftsmanship of the namesake furniture and lighting pieces.

Gallery staff will facilitate a personalised experience of the gallery, guiding visitors through the narrative of each piece while discussing materials, finishes and custom options. The gallery will showcase a new arrangement of furniture and lighting pieces each quarter, demonstrating the breadth of the studio’s catalogue, alongside its latest product releases including the Leaf Sconce, Hinterland Stools and Booham Chairs.

Launching in line with the gallery opening, the latest collection, Prism, is a range of tables that continues the studio’s exploration of sacred geometry. Prisms have been developed into organic, crystalline forms with striking silhouettes and expressive materials that are imbued with a sense of mystery. Architectural and organic, the Prism collection is available in Round, Oval, Long, Side and Coffee Table configurations in a range of sustainably forested timbers.
